Miss Ashworth is our Assistant Principal for Curriculum Implementation and joined our school in September 2025. Miss Ashworth started her teaching career over 12 years ago at Bishop Young Academy, another school in our Trust, where she started as an NQT PE Teacher, and has since taken on a variety of roles in both PE and in the wider leadership teams in the school.
Miss Ashworth believes that actively engaging with challenging tasks and content and learning from getting things wrong is key to ensuring students make great academic progress. She hopes that she can ensure students at Lightcliffe Academy are always appropriately challenged to enable them to flourish both inside and outside the classroom.
