We are pleased to inform you that, from September 2026, an additional school bus service will be available for students travelling to and from Lightcliffe Academy.
The new service, LC7 via Wyke, has been introduced to provide greater transport capacity and improved access for students living in the area.
LC7 Route (via Wyke)The service will begin at Cleckheaton Road at Odsal Place and travel to Lightcliffe Academy, serving a number of stops along the route. In addition, we would like to make parents and carers aware of an important change for students who currently travel to school using the 255 bus service from Halifax. Unfortunately, this service arrives at the Academy too late for students to be in school for the start of the school day. Therefore, from September, students who have been using the 255 service should instead travel on the LC5 school bus service from Halifax Bus Station, which arrives in time for the start of school.
We encourage all families to review the route information carefully and make any necessary travel arrangements before the new academic year begins.
