Miss Jackson joins the Senior Leadership Team this year with a responsibility for the Quality of Education; focusing particularly on the reading and oracy skills of our students.
Miss Jackson graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree and a MA in English Literature. She took up his first teaching post as an English teacher in Manchester in 2008 and has worked at St Mary's, Menston; one of the highest performing comprehensive schools in the country, and at Abbey Grange Academy; one of the best schools in Leeds. Her passion for teaching & learning and developing the literacy skills of students from all backgrounds led her to move from Head of English to take up the post of Assistant Principal at Lightcliffe Academy in 2024. In her previous post as Head of English, the department had a P8 score of 0.9 and the highest rate of 9-4 grades in Leeds schools. Miss Jackson is incredibly excited to contribute to Lightcliffe’s journey to ensure that the academy is recognised as an example of outstanding practice, excellent provision and exciting opportunities for all.
