Mr Cross is our Senior Leader for Personal Development, and joined us in September 2014 as a Newly Qualified Teacher. Mr. Cross has been in several roles across the academy over his 10 years here, including Achievement Director for KS3 & KS4, and Head of Drama.
Mr Cross started his career teaching Drama and has always valued the subject. He has led on many school shows throughout the 10 years, including Grease, Footloose, Legally Blonde, School of Rock and We Will Rock You. Mr Cross loves developing passion for the arts and that is why the Personal Development role is perfect for him. He believes that having amazing experiences outside the classroom can build the strongest young adults. All the work with student leadership, careers, trips/visits and extra-curricular activities ensure students are prepared for the wider world when they leave Lightcliffe Academy.
Outside of school, Mr Cross still enjoys performing from time to time and enjoys spending time with friends, family and his dog, Eevee.
