Key Stage 3

What will I learn?

Personal, social, health and economic education is a vital part of every student’s learning journey at Lightcliffe Academy. Our intent is to provide students with:

  • Confidence about themselves and the world around them.
  • Opportunities to reflect on own personal beliefs, attitudes and values.
  • Awareness on how to live a healthy, balanced and safe lifestyle.
  • The ability to debate, but also respect and tolerate other peoples’ beliefs and lifestyle.
  • The skills to be independent, ambitious and be financially competent.
  • The ambition to leave Lightcliffe Academy and be successful in life.

Our SHARED character curriculum (PSHE) helps prepare students for opportunities and responsibilities of adult life. Health and happiness is taught through our health and wellbeing topics, such as the importance of sleep and stress management. Ambition is taught through learning about employability skills and careers.
