Mr T. Rothwell
Principal/Head of School
Day to day leadership and management of Lightcliffe Academy.
Mr Rothwell joined Lightcliffe in September 2015 from an outstanding secondary school in Leeds. He has extensive experience in both curriculum and pastoral areas at Senior Leadership level.
Mr D. Stucke
Vice Principal, Standards
Mr Stucke joined Lightcliffe Academy in September 2015. He is a Maths teacher and has held teaching and leadership positions in schools across central Manchester before moving to Lightcliffe. Mr Stucke has a particular interest in curriculum, assessment, pedagogy and leadership. He has worked extensively in assessment and data, curriculum design and IT provision in the past. Before becoming a teacher Mr Stucke completed a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering and had a career as a management consultant with PwC, he enjoys cycling and swears he will commute on his bike from his home in Saddleworth when the weather is better.

Mr M. Harwood
Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Progress
Mr Harwood joined Lightcliffe Academy in July 2015 after 4 years at Calder High School. He started as a Mathematics Teacher before quickly progressing to Head of Department. Mr Harwood has a passion for Mathematics and was a member of the UK Maths Trust for several years. He is also a GCSE and A Level examiner for Edexcel and AQA respectively.
Before becoming a teacher Mr Harwood was a trained Accountant and has worked at ITV and Network Rail as a Financial Accountant.
Mr N. Collins
Assistant Principal, Student Development
Mr Collins joined Lightcliffe Academy in January 2016 after 5 years at Abbey Grange. He started out as a Modern Foreign Languages teacher before becoming Head of one of Abbey Grange's six Abbey's (Houses), then later Achievement Director for Student Development and member of ELT. Mr Collins has a particular interest in Behaviour and has provided relevant training across the MAT.
Before becoming a teacher, Mr Collins was a Senior Environmental Consultant for a large multinational technical consultancy.
