Key Stage 4
Enrichment Enrichment is currently only studied at KS4. Students have 3 lessons a fortnight in Year 9 and 2 lessons a fortnight in Year 10 in which they complete and are awarded with The Young Leaders Award from The Archbishop of York Youth Trust. The Archbishop of York Youth Trust exists to empower young people to ‘be the change they want to see’ in their lives and local communities. The Young Leaders Award is a school based active citizenship programme, which equips young people with leadership skills and gives them the practical opportunities to make a difference in their local community and beyond. What will I learn? You will learn a range of teamwork and leadership skills that will be relevant to school life and the world of work. You will also learn about your local community and how you can help others. How will I be assessed? You will complete three self-evaluation booklets each year and your teacher will assess your practical and written work. For each unit, you will be marked as either a developing leader, an accomplished leader or an exemplary leader. At the end of the course you will receive the Young Leaders Award. What could I move onto? The Young Leaders Award acts as evidence that you have good teamwork and leadership skills. This will improve your college, university and job applications. You could move on to work with charities and local organisations and the skills you will learn would be very useful in Business Studies, Psychology or any subject that involves group work.
